It is with a heavy heart that I have to tell you all that my darling Ian passed away on Wednesday 1st December. As many of you know, he was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour back in April 2018, just days after my 60th birthday. Until January this year he beat the prognosis and we lived our best lives, travelling to places we always planned to visit and living life to the full. He met his two grandsons and showed what a great ‘Dahdah’ he was. He plied his family with love and never let his cancer define him.
But in January 21 the tumour returned but this time, despite more surgery and taking part in two drug trials at the Royal Marsden the cancer finally took him. He still fought it every day and was out in London at the theatre with Robyn and Laura on 4th November. So his health deteriorated rapidly at the end. But in true Ian style he left us as best he could. He always worried about being very poorly and he managed to keep that part to a few short weeks.
Christmas was his favourite time of year and so we are planning his funeral for 14th December. That way we hope in years to come we will be able to celebrate, as we always did, in his memory.
We are heartbroken.
A really great chap who will be so missed by us all but always remembered in our hearts.
Beautiful service, for an amazing man. Your tributes will have made Ian so proud of you all! Sending all our love. Natalie and Harry xxx
